Making everyone equal (MEE) is a social enterprise based in Whitehaven offering free information, advice and support to anyone affected by trauma of any kind.Making Everyone Equal services Aim to offer and provide a holistic approach to trauma recovery and their team of specially trained Trauma informed practitioners will aim to support achievable and sustainable recovery pathway, with a whole systems approach, specific to the individual needs of their clients and community they support; to empower everyone in the service to live a healthy, safe and stable life where they feel more in control.

Trauma-Informed Practice

Trauma-Informed Practice is a strengths-based approach, which seeks to understand and respond to the impact of trauma on people’s lives. The approach highlights physical, psychological, and emotional safety for everyone and aims to empower individuals to re-establish control of their lives.

Who is this service for?

MEE supports all individuals 17 years & over who have experienced any form of trauma, including family members and partners.

What does this service offer?

MEE offer a bespoke service to clients who have experienced Poly victimization and multiple traumas across the life span. Direct support is offered through MEE bespoke services, face to face, by phone, remotely and within community.

  • Targeted 1 to 1 support
    Targeted 1 to 1 supports, offering a bespoke practical and emotional support tailored for individual needs on a 1 to 1 basis, with qualified Trauma Informed Practitioners.
  • Telephone Support
    This is open to everyone; the provision will allow people to speak with a qualified practitioner to get advice on where and how they can get the best help. To ensure that all clients receive services, the MEE team is adaptable and will provide home visits and online support as needed.
  • Me Myself and I
    Me, Myself & I, is accessible to individuals who have experienced varying forms of trauma. This 10-week self-development courses. Me Myself & I will build self-esteem/confidence, promote positive coping strategies, self-care techniques this will reducing suicidal ideology, reducing symptoms of PTSD, and having access to peer support to help their recovery.
  • B2B Course
    B2B (Bump2Baby) is a person centered, psycho-educational, trauma informed, bespoke to needs, ante/postnatal program, accessible for individuals from 17+. That may struggle to engage with statutory services due to multifaceted trauma, this program is targeted at teens and vulnerable adults. Offering continuity, direct support, education, and practical help for all aspect of pregnancy and early days, building on trust, confidence, and engagement. This will be offered as 1 to 1, group supports and is fully adaptable to all specific needs, feeding on to required services.
  • Hope to recovery
    Hope 2 Recovery is a 6-week, psycho-educational, trauma informed program, offering individuals that could, are or have been within a domestic violence, coercive control, emotionally abusive, relationship, offering the first steps towards recovery with full risk assessment and safety planning, towards development of sustainable recovery pathways.
  • Therapeutic Journaling Course
    Therapeutic journaling is a 6-week course, encouraging individuals to find a creative outlet and release for negative emotions and find effective resources within themselves. Each week we look at different themes to different themes to explore our inner world and perception of self. The course helps develop self-awareness and encourages reflection, whilst learning a new creative and artistic skills along the way.
